Jamie Langhoff dedicated over 55 (!!!) hours to volunteering with 826DC this past school year. She is an expert illustrator who brings students’ stories to life during field trips and has even hosted her own workshop, Zine and be Zine, in which she helped students draw their own stories.

Our June Volunteer of the Month, Adam Mistler, was seeking an opportunity for self-improvement when he stumbled across Tivoli’s Astounding Magic Supply. Inspired to volunteer with 826DC by his own dedication to writing, Adam admires the impact staff and volunteers have on students every week.

826DC is thrilled to celebrate Linda Maxwell and her Museum Academy Program (MAP) at the Anacostia Community Museum as valued Community Partners this month! Thanks to their invitation and support, our volunteers recently lead MAP students on two fun-filled writing adventures related to a current exhibition, Twelve Years That Shook and Shaped Washington: 1963-1975.
