We’re hosting a potato writing workshop and a story card workshop on Saturday, November 23rd! It’s going to be a great day at 826DC.
10 AM: Tivoli’s Astounding Magic Supply Co. opens
We’ll kick off the day by opening our magical storefront at 10 AM. Tivoli’s Astounding Magic Supply Co. is open from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays, including this one! Anyone’s welcome to come browse or shop with us.
11 AM: Wild Cards: a Mix-and-Match Writing Workshop
Join 826DC anytime between 11 AM and 1 PM for a free, drop-in adventure for DC students and their grownups! You’ll get to write an original story using 826DC’s story cards, designed by local Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) artists, and help bind your very own chapbook. You’ll leave with your chapbook and a free set of story cards to enjoy at home.
2 PM: 826DC’s Magical Potato Gallery
Carve out some time from 2 PM to 4 PM to enjoy drinks, good company, and a unique arts experience with 826DC and comedian Melissa Gedney! You’ll make and write about a special sculptural creation made out of, you guessed it, a potato. No need to BYOP; we’ll have everything you need.
826DC’s board will match all proceeds from this event as part of our #GivingNovember campaign, dollar-for-dollar, so you can feel doubly good about participating.
For questions about the Wild Cards workshop, please get in touch with andrea@826dc.org. For questions about the potato workshop, please reach out to emma@826dc.org.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
