826DC’s Half-Half-Half-Half-Half Marathon

826DC's Half-Half-Half-Half-Half Marathon

No matter where you are on June 5th, 826DC’s Half-Half-Half-Half-Half Marathon will be the greatest and shortest (0.826 miles, to be exact) virtual race in town.

Whether you are a passionate runner or an enthusiastic sitter, or somewhere in between, you’ll be making huge strides for writing education!

What This Is + How This Works

This is a completely distanced, remote fundraiser. Anyone can join, no matter where they are!

Participants have until June 5th to raise as many donations as possible for 826DC. No minimums; you just raise what you can.

We know how tough it’s been to meet new friends during the pandemic, so we’ll have optional virtual “trainings” each week where you’ll get to meet one another, share fundraising tips, and just have a blast as you support this community.

We’ll also send you playlists, prizes, and other inspiration leading up to the big day, June 5th, when you’ll do your 0.826 mile walk/read/walk/jog/nap/dance/et cetera, whenever and wherever you feel like it.

On your mark, get set…join us!

How You Can Get Involved

Register to participate

(Haven’t done a lot of fundraising before? No sweat. We’ll send you everything you need to crush this.)

Support from afar

Your donation will fund our programs with DC students and teachers, right when they’re needed most. You can donate here.

Spread the word

Know someone who might want to participate or to give? Tell them, or send this blog post their way!

The Half-Half-Half-Half-Half Marathon is 100% virtual, so it’s okay if they aren’t in the DC area.

Cheer us on

You can use #HalfHalfHalfHalfHalfMarathon (that’s half x5) to share the love on social media. You can also display one of these delightful yard or window signs IRL!
