826DC recently featured in a Washington Independent Review of Books story about “area arts organizations every writer (and reader) should know.”
Sarah Richman, 826DC’s Senior Manager of Communications and Development, spoke to the importance of writing and publishing opportunities for young people.
“Too often, literary spaces only feature adults, and that is such a disservice to young people who have incredible and powerful things to say,” she shared, continuing, “but also to us. We’re missing out on magnificent stories, on important points of view, and on a really valuable slice of the human experience.”
