What drew you to 826DC?

When I was a kid, I loved writing stories. When I learned about 826DC’s work—especially the novelty of partnering students with celebrated authors and of publishing their work—I felt like I had to check it out!

Who is your favorite author right now?

Jhumpa Lahiri! I’ve been into her collection of short stories from “Unaccustomed Earth” recently.

What was your favorite activity in elementary school?

I loved free reading.

If you were a magician, what would be your signature magic trick?

I would want to be able to go invisible.

What inspired you to get involved with this kind of work, and why do you think it’s so important?

I think that it’s important for students to have a safe after-school place that’s engaging, and that being able to write effectively is an essential tool in life.
