Book a Storytelling & Bookmaking Field Trip

826DC Field Trip Students

If you teach or know DC students in first through fourth grade, consider a Storytelling & Bookmaking field trip to 826DC this Spring. Young people write a story together and leave as published authors, with books in-hand!

What is a Storytelling & Bookmaking field trip?

It’s a writing adventure like none other. Students work together to create a unique character and then collaborate on a brand-new story—until the climax, that is. They write the endings on their own, building on everything they started together.

Author portraits taken and stories complete, the students leave two hours later as published authors, thanks to the 826DC onsite book-binding studio and staff.

How much does this cost?

If you’re at a DCPS school or a DCPCS school where 51% or more of the student population has Free or Reduced Priced Lunch and/or identifies as English Language Learners, it’s free.

Otherwise, it’s $150 per group.

When/where do these field trips happen?

Storytelling & Bookmaking field trips are located at the 826DC writing center (3333 14th Street NW, Suite M120, Washington, DC, 20010, although the best entrance is the magic shop door around the corner on Park Road).

They happen on Fridays, 10 AM to noon, now through May!

This sounds great! How do I register my class?
