What’s Your Superpower?

March 17 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

You always knew you were special. Now, you discover that you’re even more special – you have a superpower! How did you get your superpower? What do you do with it? What happens next? It’s all up to you. In this two hour workshop, you will learn about several key elements of storytelling – such as characters, setting, and plot development – and the revision process as you write and illustrate a story about your adventures.

This workshop is intended for ages 6-11

Taught by Michael Spaeth

Michael Spaeth is a graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in Political Science and Communication Studies. He currently does nonprofit communications work in the education policy field in the D.C. area, and previously worked at a nonprofit agency that provides health and social services, creative enrichment, and other services for low-income individuals in Chicago. Michael wrote his first short story at the age of three and has been writing poems and short stories ever since. In addition to teaching writing workshops at 826DC, he has led and assisted with creative writing workshops at organizations in Michigan and Chicago.
