Interstellar Diplomacy

November 18 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

There’s trouble in the galaxy! A planet is in crisis, and only you – the representatives of the Galactic Council – can resolve the conflict. In this Workshop, you will create your very own alien character and home planet, and write a speech advocating for your solution to the crisis – in doing so, you will learn how to create compelling fictional characters and settings, and how to write a persuasive speech. The fate of the planet is in your hands!

This workshop is intended for ages 12-16.

Taught by Michael Spaeth

Michael Spaeth is a graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in Political Science and Communication Studies. Michael wrote his first short story at the age of three and has been writing poems and short stories in his spare time ever since. He has led and assisted with creative writing workshops at organizations in Michigan and Chicago. He also enjoys playing jazz saxophone and photography.
